Nachrichten Für Die Truppe Extrablatt – 5 May 1945
The ‘Nachrichten Für Die Truppe’ was an allied project created in the later stages of the Second World War which trialled a new project in physiological warfare. It was printed by the allies and dropped by the 8th airforce over German positions in Europe. The first was dropped in April 1944 and continued until just before the end of the Second World War. This multipage newspaper was compiled of propaganda and designed to mentally weaken German forces.
This particular edition was printed on the 5th May 1945 and was an Extrablatt or extra sheet detailing the news that the German armies in Holland, Denmark and NW Germany had unconditionally unsurrendered.
The paper has a slight rip in it but is in generally good condition – see photos.
